About us

AWOL came into being in 2007 when a few women decided that lots of things made us feel very darn angry, and meeting up to be angry together made us feel a whole lot better able to deal with those things and to do something about them.

Also, while we were reading a lot of great feminism on the internet, we wanted a space to meet up in the real world to talk about feminism.

Our main activity is holding a monthly feminist discussion group, aka an “educational”.  We occasionally manage to do other things too.
